IV - RCAF 20412This is an exclusive for Modeller's Choice in Canada750 pieces world-wide . . “Goldilocks” Aerobatic Team (1962-1964)The famous “Golden Hawks” formed in 1959 to celebrate Canada’s Golden Anniversary of Flight on their magnificent Gold Painted F-86 Sabres and were surely one of the best in the World at the time. At RCAF Station Moose Jaw a new concept in demonstration flying was born as the “Goldilocks” and were formed on Harvard Mk.4s in 1962. The team went on to beome one of the best known and best-liked flying teams of all time.In their final season the Goldilocks Harvards all received a special paint scheme including blue rudder stripes, blue engine cowling, and blue hubs on the wheels. Defense Budget cuts in 1964 led to the team being disbanded. The ModelThe model commissioned by Modeler’s Choice in Hamilton, Ontario is a replica of the example in the collection of the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum. It has the blue rudder stripes and a blue engine cowling to represent an aircraft from the “Goldilocks” Aerobatic Team. The actual aircraft at CWH lacks a aircraft team number that should be painted on the engine cowling (Since the model was released CWH has painted the Number “5” on the cowling to more correctly represent a Goldilocks aircraft). Paint and finish are top notch with all the various parts fitting together well with little or no fuss. You could plan on adding a team number decal to the engine cowling using a set from Leading Edge Decals to more correctly represent a team aircraft.
