1/72 FALCON-MODELS (FA727003) BRITISH AEROSPACE CT-155 HAWK (155213) R.C.A.F. 419 " MOOSE " SQDN (T.F.S.) COLD LAKE, ALBERTA 2001 (LIMITED EDITION) The Canadian Armed Forces - Air Command (Restored to the rightful and historic title of "Royal Canadian Air Force" in 2011) originally used the CF-5 Freedom Fighter as a lead in fighter trainer for the CF-18 Hornet. After the CF-5 was retired in 1995 there was a need for a new advanced jet trainer to teach basic fighter tactics prior to flying the CF-18. As a result Canada ordered the 115 series British Aerospace (BAe) Hawk advanced trainer aircraft which entered service in 2000 as the CT-155. Today the RCAF uses the CT-155 in both the Advanced and Lead-in Fighter Training roles (the latter with No.419 Tactical Fighter (Training) Squadron at Cold Lake, Alberta. 419 Squadron is also part of the NATO Flight Training in Canada (NFTC) program which trains fighter pilots from several NATO countries. After flying the CT-155 Hawk, future Canadian fighter pilots proceed to the CF-18 Hornet with No. 410 TF(T)S.
