With Aerospace Engineering Test Establishment at CFB Cold Lake, Alberta in 1980s or 1990s, exact dates not known. Reported deployed to Gulf for Desert Cat detachment. With 1st Canadian Air Division at CFB Solingen, Germany in 1991. Back with AETE at Cold Lake by February 1995. Used as prototype for ECP-II avionics upgrade. Received special paint scheme in 2001 for 60th anniversary of 410 Squadron. Carried special colour scheme c.2007, possibly part of the ECP-II program. Still at AETE in May 2007. Still with special paint on tail when see at El Centro, California in November 2010. With 3 Wing, 409 Squadron, when it received special markings in January 2011 as that year's CF-18 demo aircraft. Markings honour military families. On display at St. Thomas, Ontario air show in June 2011. Flew in the Canadian International Air Show at Toronto in September 2011. Seen at McCarren airport, Los Vegas, in January 2013. Reported active at CFB Cold Lake in April 2016, with 4,360 airframe hours.
