This is a magnificent 45.4-year-old aircraft - Earlier last month R olls-Royce has officially retired its iconic 747-200B, a flying testbed that helped shaped the future of jet engines. Originally started flying for Cathay Pacific in the 80s and serv ed with multiple airlines before joining Rolls-Royce in 2005, she has been used to test the next-gen engines including the Trent 1000 and Pearl 10X, gathering up to 20 GB of flight data per day.

Her final flight took place on July 9, 2025- farewell to a true aviation workhorse that helped power the future of flight.
