1/200 HOBBYMASTER (HL3006) VICKERS V757 VISCOUNT (CF-THS) AIR CANADA 1965 (LIMITED EDITION of ONLY 500) The first North American airline to use turboprop aircraft was Trans-Canada Airlines. The first Viscount made its maiden flight in April 1955 between Montreal and Winnipeg. TCA would eventually operate 51 Viscounts on its short-haul routes. Viscount CF-THS was the V.757 series c/n 279 and delivered to TCA February 1, 1958. TCA had 35 V.757 aircraft that were powered by 4 Rolls-Royce Dart 510 engines producing 1,600 hp (1,120 kW). The aircraft operated with the airline until May 1971 and in 1984 was donated to the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada in Winnipeg. In 1953, TCA became the first airline in the world to use a computer reservation system with remote terminals. On January 1, 1965 TCA was renamed Air Canada following government approval.
