1/200 HERPA (HE-553964) P.Z.L. (ANTONOV) AN-2 (7447) - Wiedenczyk April-01,1982 - 13 E.L.T.r. - POLISH AIRFORCE (LIMITED EDITION) The model represents a PZL Mielec AN-2TD of the Polish Air Force 13th ELT (13 Eskadra Lotnictwa Transportowego or 13h Airlift Squadron). The TD type means it is a paratrooper version with 12 seats and static line attachment cables. The squadron is based at Krakow, Poland and was established 1963. The history of this aircraft with registration 7447 (cn 1G-7447) is quite interesting as it was used by 2 pilots with their wifes and 3 children as well as a mechanic and reserve pilot to escape to Vienna, Austria from Krakow, Poland on 1 April 1982. As a result this AN-2 was nicknamed "Viennese" or in Polish "Wiedenczyk". It is currently part of the Polish Aviation Museum and often takes part in airshows.
